Thread Lift in Kuala Lumpur

Sometimes, people might too young to even consider surgery or simply do not want surgery done on their face. Facial volume might be needed for anyone at the age where beauty plays an important part in their life but excessive volume is not desirable and a simple lift is much more preferable. Non-permanent threads such as PDO threads used in My Bliss Clinic’s Thread Lift has been gaining popularity over the years because of its powerful lifting effects against sagging. These threads are fully absorbable and require no incision or stitches, giving way to a more minimal downtime after the procedure.

PDO ThreadsPolydioxanone (PDO) is a material often used for stitching in surgeries. It is a colourless biodegradable synthetic polymer and the threads will dissolve within a year. Another benefit is that it is able to help stimulate the production of new collagen in your skin and the effect can last well until after the threads are gone and dissolved completely.

PDO in our Thread Lift operates in the cells as a mechanical external stimulus, providing the following effects within the skin:

  • Production of collagen
  • Skin tightening and lifting effect
  • Improvement of microcirculation
  • Increase of cell metabolism
  • Relaxation of muscles
  • Increase of lipolysis (fat tissue breakdown)

Who should go for the Thread Lift?

N-Finders PDO threads from Korea have undergone constant research and clinical tests for better outcome and treatment results. The PDO threads we use in our Thread Lift are indicated for the following conditions:

  • Prominent laugh lines
  • Prominent Marionette (mouth to chin) lines
  • Droopy jawlines
  • Sagging neck
  • Sunken under eyes / eye bags
  • Flat nose
  • Loose skin

PDO Thread Lift in our Thread Lift is suitable for anyone looking to improve the appearance of sagging skin without undergoing surgical facelift which comes with long downtime after the procedure.

What is the procedure of the Thread Lift?

For the Thread Lift, local anaesthesia will be given to the treatment area to numb the skin and minimise the discomfort, prior to the insertion of the threads. You will experience a small, pricking sensation similar to acupuncture needling, which is not painful. Depending on the treatment area, the Thread Lift procedure can be completed in as short as 45 minutes.

How long will the effects last and what will happen to the threads after inserting into the skin?

During the Thread Lift, the threads will be inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. They will be fully absorbed /melted in the skin within 6 months. However, results may last up to 18 months due to the later effects of the production of the collagen in response to PDO materials.

The PDO sutures used in our Thread Lift provides immediate lifting effect for sagging skin. As new collagen will gradually produce, rejuvenating effects such as volume restoration and skin tightening will be more prominent over the next few months. Lines will be softened and better facial contours will be seen.

Is there any downtime after the Thread Lift?

Redness and swelling will resolve in 3 to 4 days. Bruises (if it happens) may take approximately a week to resolve. Dimpling and rippling of the skin are commonly seen for a few days after the Thread Lift procedure as the skin is adapting to the newly lifted position.

After the Thread Lift procedure, patients are discouraged from undergoing any dental treatment and vigorous exercise for 2 weeks. During this period, it is also advisable to sleep on their back to allow the swelling to subside and to avoid excessive facial expression and putting too much pressure on the face.

Message from Dr. Elson

Our Thread Lift treatment is commonly part of our Blissfully Facelift, which combines botolinum toxin injections and dermal fillers for volumization and lifting effects. In case you find it to be too invasive, you may opt for the HIFU Ultraformer III which is a non-invasive treatment without the use of any injections.
