(Platelet Rich Plasma) PRP Treatment

Platelet Rich Plasma

Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections were first used in 1987 in open-heart surgery. Today, PRP injections are used safely in many fields, including sports medicine, orthopaedics, faciomaxillary, urology, as well as aesthetic medicine.

Platelet-rich plasma (or PRP) is blood plasma that has been enriched with regenerative growth factors to stimulate skin healing and natural recovery.

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) is blood plasma enriched with regenerative growth factors that helps to stimulate skin healing and its natural recovery. Through our PRP Treatment Kuala Lumpur, a small amount of your blood will be withdrawn from the arm and centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood cells. Only platelet-rich blood plasma will be administered back to the desired area for the (Platelet Rich Plasma) PRP Treatment Kuala Lumpur to help with skin regeneration and other benefits.

PRP Treatment is combinable with fractional laser treatment for those who suffer from old and stubborn acne scars. This treatment will help the skin to accelerate in its skin healing post-ablative laser treatments and promote new healthy skin cells.

What is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)?

Our own blood is made of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Platelets are small discoid cells which contain granules that contain clotting and growth factors. During the healing process, the platelets are activated, and subsequently, releases these growth factors which stimulate inflammatory cascade and healing process.

Blood typically contains 6% platelets whereas PRP has a significantly increased amount of supra-physiological platelet concentration. Studies have shown that clinical benefits can be obtained if the PRP used has an increased amount of platelet concentration that is 4x greater than that of normal blood.

What is the process of the Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment?

Prior to the Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment, a simple blood sample of 10mls is extracted from the patient. This blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 5 – 8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete, your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells. The rich platelets are extracted from the base of the plasma gel. The platelets are injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin. The platelets gradually increase collagen which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin.
